What the F?: Summer Hats, Faux Glow, and a Camp

So it’s June…… I’ll give you a moment to let that sink in.

This year is flying by, but the good news is that we are now in the homestretch of it officially being SUMMER! There’s so much that I’m looking forward to: beach days, sunkissed skin, vacations and my favorite TV shows’ season premiers! This week, I’ve rounded up some F’s to get you ready to bring on the sunshine and heat!

Fad

Take your look from beach bum to beach babe with my current favorite accessory. Hats have been my go to lately for putting the finishing touches on my look.  Whether you’re going to brunch, or spending the afternoon relaxing by the pool, you can’t go wrong. Not only will you shade yourself from the harsh sun, but you’ll look fab doing it too. 😉 I’ve linked my favorite styles below and included everything from sporty baseball caps to floppy beach hats. Feel free to add more than one type to your collection. I promise you’ll thank me later!

Feminine

I just ran out of my favorite highlighter (R.I.P.) from the Carli Bybel Palette by BH Cosmetics. We had a good run, but it was time for me to expand my faux glow horizons. I recently made a trip to Sephora with a friend, who slays the highlight game. She always looks incredible, so I trust her judgement. I ended up purchasing the Spotlight Palette by Smashbox and I am IN LOVE with it! The shades aren’t too harsh for my pale skin and it has just the right amount of shimmer. And for those of you who already have your summer tan going (I am ohhhh so envious), they have a palette with darker shades too. You glow girl!

Fit

There’s absolutely nothing worse than feeling bloated during bikini season, except maybe feeling bloated AND still being hungry. Trust me, I’ve been there and wanted to hide under my cover-up all day. But, there’s no need to when you know the right snacks to eat to help prevent bloating! Some of my go-tos are blueberries, apples & almond butter, carrots, and bananas. But, when I have an extra five minutes, I love making anti-bloat smoothies. They fill me up and leave me feeling light and bikini ready. Check out my favorite on Pinterest here.

Fun

I live in a household where camp is often the topic of conversation. Sam spent most of his life at Camp Towanda and continued to go back in college as a counselor. I’m not going to lie, I’m a little jealous. You can chalk it up to my Parent Trap obsession, but I still think it would be fun to have my Hallie Parker “royal flush” moment. Luckily for me, I guess I’m not the only adult that felt this way—because alas, Camp No Counselors was born. Imagine a place where you can play all of your favorite childhood games, spend your weekend outdoors, and enjoy an adult beverage or two (or better yet, “play like a kid, party like a grown up” as they state in their motto.) The best part is that they travel to different cities around the country—so you have the opportunity to visit a city you’ve never been to before, or stay a quick drive away from home. You can find more information here, and if you’re my friend, expect a text from me about this soon! 🙂

Find

The countdown is on! You officially have 26 days to get ready for the Season 4 premier of Younger! If you have yet to discover this gem of a show, now is your time to catch up. Younger follows the story of Eliza, a recently divorced 40-year-old mother, who moves in with her best friend in the Big Apple and pursues her college dreams to work in publishing. As it turns out, it’s not so easy for a midlife divorcee to start over in her career, so she poses as a 26 year old millennial and lands a job at Empirical Press. You’ll fall in love with Eliza, all of her friends and (multiple) lovers that she meets along the way. This show is fresh, witty, and will leave you needing more…more twists, more turns, and definitely more eye candy.
