 FAQs

  • No. While we work with our clients on all-things-application, we are approaching the field from a literary background. Whether it’s the personal essay or the activities list, clear and expressive writing constitutes a majority of the work of college applications—and writing is our specialty.

  • Every application season varies, but every student can expect the same level of expertise and exceptional service, whether or not they have selected the full-service option. Experience allows us to determine a maximum on a yearly basis and we stop accepting new application clients at this point.

  • All sessions are conducted online via Zoom and using Google Docs. As students make progress on their writing, we are able to check up on their work, make suggestions on drafts from afar and between scheduled meetings, and ensure everybody is on the same page when it comes time to meet. We find this method allows for more flexibility in our scheduling and the opportunity to work with students around the world.

  • Yes. In addition to college applicants, we accept clients applying to prep school, summer programs, internships, study abroad programs, and graduate school. In an application market saturated by high scores and great GPAs, strong and personal writing is often the deciding factor in acceptance.

  • We do not limit the number of drafts, applications, or meetings.

  • We meet with students working on applications for two-hour sessions on an as-needed basis. Appointment sign-ups are sent on a weekly basis and students sign up for the time that best suits them, on a first-come first-serve basis. The expectation is that all students will schedule at least one meeting every two weeks, and that our students will take on the responsibility of scheduling their sessions in preparation for the transition to college and adulthood.

Younger tutoring students are seen on a weekly basis to keep on track with traditional curriculum. Older students often schedule drop-in appointments to work on specific assignments.

We work seven days per week with seniors from Labor Day through the middle of January. In addition to one weekend in late October, we take time off surround Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Years Day. We do not work during these times. If a student requests emergency services during these periods, which does happen, the fees are time and a half.

  • Every year, we assist two students with their college applications for reduced or pro bono rates.
